Review: Blush Avant D17 Lucky

Review: Blush Avant D17 Lucky

The Avant line of toys from Blush is one of my favorites, specifically the pride line. I have fallen in love with quite a few at this point. They are colorful, they are body-safe, and they are almost all under $50! So when Peepshow Toys slid into my DMs with a chance to review the newest in the line, the Avant D17 Lucky, I jumped at it! Let’s break down this toy first and then get to the fun!

Avant D17 Lucky

Avant D17 Lucky Stats

The Blush Avant D17, otherwise known as Lucky, is a sparkly pastel silicone suction cup dildo of your aesthetic dreams! The colors transition between pink, purple, and blue. The inclusion of glitter gives it a defined sparkle. The silicone itself is smooth to the touch, and the firmness is in the middle. Meaning it has some give to it, but still pushes back when you squeeze or press into it.

The shape itself is mostly straight, with a very gentle ridge that can be used for G-spot or prostate massage. Tapering near the suction cup base makes it wonderfully compatible for strap-on harness use. The suction cup itself will stick to most smooth, flat surfaces.

Because it is made of silicone, it is easy to clean. Use hot water and gentle soap, or a bleach/water solution. You can also give it a dunk in boiling water.

Measurements:

  • 1.5 inches width
  • 6.75 inches insertable length
  • 8 inches total length

So What Do I Think?

All that Glitters

If we went by looks alone, the Avant D17 Lucky would win all the awards. With the faint bisexual colors, it is no wonder they revealed this toy during Pride. The glitter that runs through the whole toy catches the light, making it sparkle. But there is a word of caution about the glitter, as a fellow reviewer Princess Previews found out. On her D17, the glitter came all the way to the top of the silicone, leaving the outside with a rough scratchy texture, as well as the glitter falling out when they pressed against the surface. This, of course, made me check the one I was sent before I tested it. And since the time of testing, I have not found this to be an issue. But it is an issue with this toy that any buyer needs to be aware of.

Onto Testing

I was first drawn in by the feeling of the silicone. It definitely has that sort of silky ‘dual density’ feeling. Without actually being a dual-density toy, it still has a nice firm squish to it. Due to the Avants D17 Lucky’s girth, I did use a toy beforehand to just warm up. As for me, anything over 1.25 inches needs some working up to. But once I had warmed up, the feeling of the said girth inside of me was lovely. The head and ridge of the D17 were not enough to get any sort of G-spot stimulation. But it did feel amazing for thrusting and penetration when used in tandem with a toy like a clitoral vibe or even a wand focusing on clitoral stimulation.

What I really loved was the suction cup, for a number of reasons. First, it is small. As someone with small hands who uses the base to hold on while using a toy, the small base was great. It also has a lot of flexibility which meant I could really get a good grip on it without hurting my hand. The flexibility also came in handy when getting it into a harness because I didn’t have to try to squeeze the ring down the length of the dildo. And finally, the suction cup itself holds on to most semi-flat surfaces. My walls are textured thanks to wallpaper, and I found it even stuck well to that. So you can play around with the surfaces you might have as an option for sticking.

Overall Thoughts

When it comes to toys from Blush, the Avant D17 Lucky would be a favorite. But since you do have to be super careful about that glitter, it doesn’t quite hit all the marks for me. If you do purchase it, make sure you take this into account and check your toy before you use it, as the glitter can be a hazard.

You can get the Avant D17 Lucky for 39.99 at Peepshow Toys.
