The Magic Wand Orginal is a sex toy that is iconic. You can always spot one in the wild on television shows and in art. Even in porn, you know that its a Magic Wand when they cover up the name. In the early 70s after visiting one of Betty Dodson’s workshops, Dell Williams went to a high-end shop to purchase at then Hitachi Magic Wand. After a very lewd exchange with the salesman, it prompted her to start Eve’s Garden the first feminist sex shop. Which allowed shops like Good Vibrations, Early 2 Bed, and so many others to follow in their footsteps. Making safe stores for women and LGBTQ individuals to shop with!

The Magic Wand has Stopped Selling Twice!

In 2000, Hitachi came into conflict with Appliance Corporation of America, the American distributor of its products including the Magic Wand. Stopping it from briefly being sold in the United States. In June 2000, Hitachi reached a deal with the sex toy distribution company Vibratex to sell the device in the U.S.

Then because of its concerns about having its brand name attached to a popular sex toy, Hitachi decided to cease production of the Magic Wand in 2013. Vibratex director of operations Eddie Romero that Hitachi was uncomfortable being associated with the best-selling sex toy. Vibratex worked with Hitachi to continue manufacturing the device, to rename it the “Original Magic Wand”. The newly named device returned in June 2013, with improved engineering and modified graphic design.

The Orignal Magic Wand isn’t sold widely in the UK!

Due to the differences between UK and US voltage, the Orignal Magic Wand won’t work without an adaptor. If it isn’t used it can blow out the plug and ruin the toy! Often fakes are sold much more often there, leading to about 97% of them not being the toy people think they are getting. Thankfully there are certain retailers who do sell both in the UK so that everyone can enjoy it! This was also the reason why Doxy became the most powerful wand in the UK as their answer to the lack of the Magic Wand! That one you can pick up at any of the local sex shops!
