As a company, Zalo leans into a very designer aesthetic. With their new Doll Designer Collection, they have drawn inspiration from roses to create a truly decadent set of kink accessories and toys. The Rose Ball Gag is one that drew the eyes of many including myself.

Rose Ball Gag

While simple in design the Rose Ball Gag has a lot going on. First, the ball and the rose plug are made from silicone. While the straps are made from Italian leather. The buckles and metal on the strap have a brass coloring to it. The ball of the silicone has a hole in the middle, not only for where the rose plug to go. But also for breathing and inserting fingers into the mouth.

As the hole is only a little over half of an inch in diameter, I am not sure you could fit more than a single finger inside. The plug sits firmly in the hole when in use. Having just enough of a stem for the lips to settle around.

For the strap the measurements are:

• Over the head strap total length: 20.87 inches
• Adjustable to: 16.15 inches – 18.7 inches
• Over the head strap width: 0.51 inches

It has a little bit of giving as the strap parts that are made of silicone have just a bit of stretch. It comes with a lovely deep maroon velvet storage bag as well.

A Rose By Any Other Name

Putting on the Rose Ball Gag was, rough. It seems that my fuller face was not made in mind. While the gag does have some stretch, it was still tight. I could only get it to the first hole. The metal screws pressing into my cheeks and pulling them together. This caused the ball to want to pull itself deeper into my mouth. It felt, almost like a corset for my face. While it looked beautiful. It was not comfortable.

The ball was comfortable, it was able to sit in my mouth easily. I would say that those with smaller mouths will enjoy it.

When it comes to gags, you want it to be comfortable while still muffling the wearer. This is not a gag I could wear for long without hurting my jaw. So it is my suggestion to measure your head with your mouth open. That way you can allow for the space that the ball takes up.

To clean up the silicone part of the gag is easy to wipe down with toy cleaner, hot water and soap, or bleach. You will be want to careful with the leather. Hot water and soap are my suggestions, as bleach will start to fade the colors.

Overall Thoughts

This Rose Ball Gag by Zalo is gorgeous. However, you want to make sure that it fits you before you get it. There are other gags that I would reach for before this because they fit a larger array of head sizes. The Rose Ball Gag sells for $64 at Shevibe.
