When it comes to having so many toys on the market, it is hard to make choices on what one should get. Every store out there has different selections. Every brand as well. Having spoken about my other bedside staples before. I wanted to speak to another. The simple dildo.

What I Mean By Simple Dildo

Often when shopping online for just dildos, you can come across a lot of things with many bells and whistles. For me, simply means the dildo and nothing more. No vibration, rotation, or thrusting. To me, these put a toy firmly into vibrator territory and move away from just being a dildo. We just want to keep what it does simple. And by that, we just mean for penetration.

I also for this leave out more fantasy-based options as those can get rather complex in shape and size. But if you lean more toward that get your fun on!

But What About Dildo Options?

Even when you cut out all of those extra options. There is still so much to choose from when looking for a simple dildo. Starting with the material you can choose between silicone, glass, metal, and even wood! All wonderful body-safe options. And the ones I highly recommend, as the others are toxic.

Then there is the shape of course. For some, something that is 100% phallic is the way to go. While others would prefer something nonphallic that can be more discreet. Colors and textures are also something considers. Do you want it to be curved to reach certain spots? Perhaps something like a suction cup base for you to be able to mount it? The world is your oyster when it comes to choices and options. Even for something as simple as a dildo.

So What Dildo to Choose?

When it comes down to choosing. I often, of course, read reviews by other bloggers who I trust. The reviews left on the sites that I visit often. As well as just what sparks my interest. Simple yet fun shapes and designs are some of my favorite dildos on the market. From ones made by big-name companies such as Blush or Tantus. To smaller makers like Funkit Toys or Uberrime. But here are some tips and tricks I like to use when doing my personal shopping.

• Check the Size: you know your body the best. Do you want girth or length? Check the details on that and have a measuring device. So many times I have fallen into the trap of my eyes seeing one thing and body able to handle it.
• Discreetness: Do you plan to hide it? Will you want to keep it out at all times.
• Weight: Is it heavy? Will you enjoy a toy that might tire you out because it is hefty?
• Price: While a dildo may be raved about, sometimes the price tag is high. Thankfully there are many options for gorgeous dildos under $50. Even ones under $30 when you look for them!
• Trust: Is this a company I trust to make a quality to that is going to last me years.

But Why Simple?

Finally, I give you why I consider it a bedside staple. Because if you find penetration fun, it is a great thing to have on hand. Not only for yourself but when you are with a partner as well. Bodies get tired. Hands get tired. Fingers get tired. A dildo can save that day and keep things going. Not wanting to dive into a vibrating toy right away as your main stimulation. All of these I have found having a simple dildo on hand is amazing.
