Bedside Staples: Battery Powered Vibrator

Bedside Staples: Battery Powered Vibrator

When I reach for a toy, I will always grab one that vibrates because it is my favorite for masturbation. Nine times out of ten it will be rechargeable. I love rechargeable toys because while they are sometimes a little more expensive it saves me from spending more on batteries. But when you look at my bedside table, I always have at least one smaller battery toy that hangs out among the rotation. Often the battery powered toy tends to be small and meant for focusing directly on my clit. But with so many other options I have, why?

Bad Habits Are Hard to Break

When I am reviewing a toy, that toy stays charged fairly well. But when I move on to something else, it is chaos. I go through toys until the charge is dead. I cannot help it. I try to keep them all charged but life gets in the way and I only have so many plugs. With this habit, however, comes a downside. My vibrators will die in the middle of use.

I won’t go digging for another one that is rechargeable. I can just grab the battery powered one and quickly continue. This is because I am normally already worked up enough to orgasm even with the change. Sometimes it takes a little longer, but I get there. Also, many battery powered vibrators are able to get some serious power these days. So sometimes there is no change at all in what I am feeling so I go right back to where I was.

But, What About Corded Wands?

With a blog name like mine, I do own a couple of corded wands. I know that I could always keep one plugged in near my bed. They are trusty and reliable to get me off. However, I tend to pull them from rotation every few months. Unless I am looking for that specific orgasm. This is because my body does start to get overwhelmed by the intense vibrations, due to most wands having just a high and low-ish setting. Then I can’t use toys for a few weeks at all which can slow down reviewing for me. So they are not always an option.

Now, this does not mean it happens to everyone, this a particular body quirk that I have found I have. Even when it comes to our toys, we should listen to what our bodies say about them. Not all toys work with all bodies.

Battery Powered Woes

Going through batteries can be a drag. I remember days of going through them rather quickly. Having to nick them from remotes and controllers. All so I didn’t have to go out just yet to buy more. Because I keep this vibrator for emergencies only, I actually go through them at a very slow rate. With my current favorite, the Iroha Stick, I have only changed the battery once since I got in January. It gave me almost 6 months of use before the power started to dip.

That is an upside to battery power. The power dip. You know when your battery is on its last life because you can’t keep it powered too high. With rechargeable, I swear each one just shuts off abruptly which is such a shock to my body. I tend to give mine a test every few weeks just to see how it is doing. Which does lessen the time I have to use it, but only in small amounts.

Finding this little sex toy hack, I suppose one could call it, has changed my life. I am never stuck or scrambling for a new toy. I can keep myself engaged in my play. And I have found a way to make it work for my body. Are there any ‘toy hacks’ that you have come up with? Feel free to share them in the comments!
