Betty’s Toy Box has recently opened a new site called Naughty Betty’s! At Naughty Betty’s they focus on BDSM and other kink gear. So I was excited when they reached out to see if I wanted to review some things from the new site. Seeing some of the new Saffron Collection from Sportsheets on the list. I really wanted to know just how the vegan leather felt and held up!

Saffron Breathable Ball Gag

The Saffron Breathable Ball Gag is a simple ball gag, using vegan leather for the strap and silicone for the ball. The gag has three holes in the center to make it easier for the wearer to breathe while using it. Fits approximately 9″ (22 cm) in maximum head diameter, 26″ in circumference. And the metal buckle has a small ring to put a lock into if you want to lock it into place.

Saffron Gauntlet Vegan Leather Cuffs 

The Saffron Gauntlet is a set of long cuffs that are connected together. Keeping your arms straight out in front of or behind you. Each one laces up the outer side of the arm as they do flair out to fit just below or at the elbow. It comes with a simple braided cord for each side to be tied up with. Made of the same black vegan leather, it does have a strip of red along with the grommets. The laces can be done in various ways. The size is listed at Adjustable to fit many sizes.

What Did I Think?

The first thing I should need to talk about is the feeling of vegan leather. I compared it to some other animal leather that I have in the house. While it is as soft, I find it to be a little more pliable than leather. The blacks of the leather feeling like more a dusty grey than a true black. But it is all very nice and easy to take care of which is what I like.

Starting with the breathable ball gag, this is perfect for anyone who has a small mouth or is starting out with using gags. The ball part of the gag fits easily behind my teeth. The strap was long enough was that it had extra holes even when it was tight on me. So it could have easily fit a bigger head than mine. It was a pleasure to wear as it allowed me to be able to breathe a lot easier. Another reason I enjoyed it was the visual of when enough spit had built up it slipped from the holes for a fairly erotic effect.

Onto the Gauntlets

As for the Gauntlet Cuffs, on the other hand, it didn’t fit as well as I would have wanted them to. I do not have things lower arms and so this causes the gauntlets to come up short. Which isn’t so bad, but it leaves a lot of exposed skin. Combining that with the rope to lace them up, it caused a lot of my flesh to poke through. This didn’t make them uncomfortable. But I do plan to do a little DIY to ad something like a panel on a corset to lay over the areas exposing my skin.

Aside from that, they kept my arms delightfully bound. Having to keep them together in front of me was the perfect limit of my motion. While I still had my hands to perform some tasks. In front was perfect for keeping my hands out of the way in the case of impact play or just keeping them bound above my head. I am not as limber to be able to get them to be able to sit behind me. But I think I prefer having them in front because it doesn’t throw off my balance. If I could get them behind me it would make me have to continue standing as straight as I could or even keep me bent over easily.

Now finally, together they are a dream. For me, the only way it could have been better was if I had something covering my eyes. Like the matching blindfold that comes in the collection from Sportsheets. But having my arms bound with my ability to talk taken away is an amazing combination.

Overall Thoughts

To me the Sportsheets Saffron collection that I have tried so far is lovely. Perfect for those who want a leather alternative to their gear. This I think is also perfect who wants very lightweight bondage gear. As sometimes leather can get heavy on the arms when wearing it for long periods. I also feel like these are perfect for beginners because of how easy to use they are.

I will say that the Gauntlets are not very friendly to plus size bodies, but it is something that can be remedied with a little engineering. But that is the only downside I am able to find.
